Location: China (Guangzhou)
Kay Kay was born in the rapidly developing city Guangzhou, China. The focus on urbanisation and production over environmental concerns means there is a lot of pollution. China is one of the most populous nations in the world and due to its One-Child Policy, Kay Kay will remain an only child. Her parents work long hours (her mother only gets three hours sleep) to ensure the best future for Kay Kay.
In 2012, Kay Kay is in her first year of university reading economics. Guangzhou has grown massively but has also become cleaner and more livable – “We shouldn’t be careless about the future and only bother ourselves with today.”
